Baemon Kitchen

The year is almost over. The “NEET” is energetic and busy as ever (lol).
This might be the most memorable photo of the year. What did you feel when you saw this scene?
Many might have felt “Japan is being underestimated” or “It’s pathetic.”
I, however, thought, “Whoa… well played, Japan.”

“Menju-fukuhai” (Outward obedience, inward betrayal)

Isn’t this a specialty unique to the Japanese?

Smiling (or keeping a poker face) even when angry is a distinct Japanese cultural trait. To people overseas (especially in the West), it’s one of the “most difficult to interpret, mysterious behaviors.” Although interpretation varies greatly depending on the culture and situation, the attitude of looking down with hands in pockets might look like a “I’m stronger” performance of victory at first glance. But if you read a little deeper, you might arrive at a different thought.
There is a saying, “The rich don’t fight,” but this is surface level. It implies that the rich win the fight without ever actually fighting.

Well, as a diplomatic tool, this Japanese response is a valid option.
However, in business or internal communication, a businessperson who makes “Menju-fukuhai” their art form is the worst. The worst part isn’t the company side, but the person themselves who mistakenly thinks they are pulling it off without being noticed.
Regardless of intent, a stance of giving a good answer but not following through with action not only hinders that person’s growth but also quietly and gradually destroys the trust of those around them.

So, here is my summary of the current G7 vs. Country C issue, based on my own prejudice and bias.
Maybe the influence of a honey trap? (lol) Japan, whose thoughts were unclear due to ambiguous statements until now, has spoken clearly, deepening the unity of the nations.
The UK recently reaffirmed it will fight alongside the US after reconfirming. The UK, Italy, and Japan are jointly developing fighter jets. This also implies fighting together.
In security, Canada is one with the US. Germany joined in calmly saying “It’s the rule,” without getting emotional. France, the people-pleaser, joined in nonchalantly before anyone realized.
That’s my fantasy of the situation. India, Australia, and the Philippines will jump on board there.
I think the propaganda aimed at dividing Japan and the US backfired and strengthened their bond.

🇯🇵 Japan (Takaichi)
“Regrettable? I won’t use that word anymore.” “Laws and equipment are ready. If you lay a hand on us, I’ll bring the whole G7 and punish you!”
🇺🇸 USA (Trump)
“Don’t touch my turf (Japan).” “Calculated. It’s cheaper to crush you thoroughly than to keep you alive.”
🇬🇧 UK (Healey)
“The gentlemen’s agreement is over.” “The contract with Japan (next-gen fighter production) is signed. We’re together anytime.”
🇮🇹 Italy (Meloni)
“I don’t sell my soul for money.” “I won’t forgive any uncle who bullies my big sister (Japan). Be prepared.”
🇨🇦 Canada
“(Silently loads gun)” “If the Boss (US) says shoot, I just shoot between the eyes. No hard feelings.”
🇩🇪 Germany
“Eliminating according to regulations.” “Late, but the switch is on. The system won’t stop until you are completely neutralized.”
🇫🇷 France (Macron)
“I don’t take orders from others.” “But don’t get me wrong. If you mess up my garden, I’ll erase you my way.”

Well, I sincerely hope it doesn’t come to this.

Desperately crafting a kitchen.

For this kitchen’s color, I referenced the “BAEMON HOUSE” (BabyMonster) (lol).

I actually thought about making the hanging cabinets and left counter storage white too, but it looked too perfect. So, I dared to use a dark oil finish that shows the wood grain to prevent it from looking too high-class, aiming for a modest, graceful atmosphere..

The struggle this time was the painting process. I usually leave a rough texture, but since the color makes dirt stand out, I applied a solid water-based urethane coating.
A painter who happened to be on site flattered me, saying I was better than a pro painter (lol).

For EvoHome custom kitchens, we usually hand them over with natural paints like milk paint, assuming the owner will maintain them. However, since this is a spec home (for sale) and we don’t know who will use it, I compromised by applying water-based urethane coating to make it easy to maintain just by wiping with water.
However, that paint is also finished with the safest possible paint that can be used for children’s building blocks and cutting boards.

A tribute (gift) from an Evo owner.
They brought a huge amount of freshly shucked morning-caught oysters.
They were the best oysters I’ve ever had.

Happiness~♪
